FREE summer-time activities for children and young people
Are your children or young people looking for something to do through the summer holidays, and strapped for cash? Then look to your local parks.
Greenwich Council and the Youth Targeted Support Team is running a programme of FREE activities over the summer, from Monday 26 July to Friday 20 August, 2 to 7pm.
Each week 13 to 19 year-olds can take part in the many activities in the 'Youth Programme' including DJ music recording production facilities, wide screen TV and play station and computers with Internet access - all from the mobile youth activity vans. Additional activities include inflatables, team extreme BMX and skate boarding, vertical reality climbing wall, hair and beauty workshop, digital photography project, street art, urban dance, video vox pops....the list goes on.
8 to 12 year-olds can take part in the 'Play Ranger' programme including parachute making, kite games, camp and den building, arts and crafts, wall climbing and much more.
The Youth Programme takes place in the following parks and parks indicated
with a * also have a Play Ranger programme:
• Monday's: Abbey Wood Park, SE2* and Charlton Park, Charlton, SE7
• Tuesday's: Birchmere Park, SE28 and Millennium Estate Green, SE10*
• Wednesday's: Plumstead Gardens, SE18 and Glyndon Estate Green, SE18*
• Thursday's: Horn Park, Lee, SE12 and Winns Common, Plumstead SE18*
• Friday's: Royal Arsenal Gardens, SE18 and Eltham Park South, SE9*
And you can take part in the Ball Court Evening with Charlton Athletic Football Club Football Coaching. All sessions from 6:30 to 8pm on:
• Monday's: Springfield Estate, SE7
• Tuesday's: Abbeywood Park, SE2
• Wednesday's: Flowers Estate, SE2 and Glyndon Estate, SE18
• Thursday's: Barnfield Estate, Herbert Road SE18 and Hawksmoor YC, SE28
• Friday's: Connaught Estate, Woolwich SE18 and Coldharbour Estate, SE9 and Winns Common, Plumstead SE18
